In the last month, I’ve had 3 real estate closing in the US and have one more this week. When the title companies (all different) sent the preliminary closing statement for my review I found numerous errors. Then they sent corrected closing statements which still had errors. Finally, the 3rd try, they got it right.
Just a reminder to check every single line item on your closing statements.
Also check to make sure the Trust name is correct, the Trustee name is spelled correctly, that your name is spelled correctly. Make sure the legal description and address are correct. You’d be surprised how often these things are not accurate.
And most importantly, make sure the have the wiring instructions correct on where to send the proceeds from your sale.
