    Texas Legislative Summit

National REIA and HomeVestors are hosting a Texas Legislative Summit with some key legislators to discuss the proposed Foreclosure Rescue Fraud Prevention Act (SB354) which will be debated during the upcoming session of the state legislature. As currently written, this act requires real estate investors to pay a minimum purchase price of 82% of fair market value to a home owner facing foreclosure along with other stipulations.

It is imperative that our state legislators hear from real estate investors about this proposed act before making any final decisions or votes. Please plan to attend the Texas Legislative Summit and voice your opinions and concerns on this matter directly to key legislators.

The event will be March 3rd and March 4th at the Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel next to the capitol in Austin, Texas. Please share this with all your members/investors and encourage them to attend.

Register today via email to Troy Miller, so we may be sure to have enough space for everyone.

    Location: Doubletree Guest Suites Austin
    303 W. 15th Street, Austin 78701
    512.478.7000 or 866-573.4235

    Day/Time: March 3rd 3 – 6pm Orientation
    March 4th 9am – 12noon

    Greg,

It all started when we had the California Invasion 2 -3 years ago.

Some California investors brought their “not so ethical” ways with them and
it pretty much shut us down on lease options, contract for deeds, and messed up
our rental market by flooding with too many properties. Rental prices went down and some
whole neighborhoods were turned in to Section 8 housing within months thanks to the
California Invasion. ( they usually paid too much for the property too)

I wish investors would just stay in their own backyard and not jump state lines.

    Jackie

Jackie, we have this in Illinois. Since when did Texas become such a socialist state? I pretty much ignore people in foreclosures now–just not worth the headache.
