That Forbes article is significant for an entirely different reason. IF you are able to read that article, it means that either your browser is not using an ad blocker, or if you have one — it’s turned off, or it is one of those ad blockers which has sold out to a few of the highest paying advertisers so their ads get through to you anyway. How do I know this?

It’s because the browser I use most of the time has a built-in ad blocker with no obvious way to even temporarily turn it off — and Forbes refuses access to any of their articles as long as I use that browser. So in the really rare cases where an article looks genuinely worthwhile — such as the current one, I’ll just log back in with a different browser with no ad blocker.

I hope this experience helps some of you.
