Had not one of the websites I regularly follow not carried an article about the Wheat Belly book, I would have known nothing about it. As a result, when I stumbled across an article raising some non-trivial questions about the author’s claims, I saved it.
This is very much out of my bailiwick, so what you see is what you get … to judge as best you can. This is that partly contrary article:

My scientific expertise on such matters is probably most inspired by an old quip from Mark Twain, who wrote to “Beware of diet books. You might die of a misprint.”
But that doesn’t provide much technical guidance, which in an era of conflicting claims, is understandably frustrating.
