At #13, San Francisco has spent more years since 2012 with local inflation around 13% or so, excepting a couple of years around 12%. That helps put into perspective the city ordinance limiting rent increases that are indexed apparently to the bogus federal inflation rate. The burden that puts on landlords becomes much clearer, and helps explain their desperate use of the “Ellis Island eviction” method as the article explains.
