  • Hi Everyone,

I have been renting, and in some cases selling, my mobile homes with lots to Spanish speaking people, mostly from Mexico. This is often accomplished by word of mouth or a Hispanic person just stopping by when we’re working on a property. My successes have been mostly accidental, and not on purpose on my part. Here in Arizona Hispanics are a huge, and increasingly less hidden part of the housing sales/rental market.

I thought of putting out a flyer in the neighborhood where I’m trying to sell a mobile & lot. One side of the flyer would be in English and the other side in Spanish. Do you have any suggestions as to where and how I could have this done? I asked a Spanish teacher at the community college, but she charged by the word and this seems a little cumbersome for on going efforts.

    Thanks, Bud

    HI bud,

It seems the first stop should be one of your existing bi-lingual tenants. I bet they would be glad to do the job for a small fee.
Of course, you’ll also need someone to take the phone calls who can speak Spanish — they could take care of this for you too.
If you’re advertising in Spanish, prospective tenants or buyers will expect to talk to someone in Spanish when they call.

For your marketing pieces, there is also a lot of FREE translation software online — see this http://www.freetranslation.com/

If you go to http://www.craigslist.com you can also find someone there who will do the translation and take the calls for you for a very affordable price.

    Jackie
