I got out of Presbyterian Hospital on Thursday afternoon. Since I had to go see the doctor on Friday morning I spent the night at my house in Dallas.

They put a big patch on my eye after the surgery.

Last night was ROUGH – severe pain – even though I was taking 2 darvocet every 4 hours.

This morning they took the patch off my left eye so they could check it. They say it is healing fine but I am blind as a bat. I can’t see anything but light. If you held 3 fingers up in front of my face I can’t see it.

They say my vision will return in 6-8 weeks.

I hope they are right. I could see better before the surgery than I can now.

It was a wierd surgery because I was awake for the whole thing and could see knives and scissors inside my eyeball.

The eye looks terrible – like I was in a fight and lost the battle.

Still have lots of pain. But that should subside in a few days.

I have to lay face down for 2 hours, then I can get up for 1 then face down for 2 hours then up for 1…. so I’ll be offline more than online. But I will be checking in as often as as I can.

I plan to just take it easy this weekend.

my girlfriend had eye operation 4 years ago; at first she was saying the same thing…that she could not see as well after it,as before it.
But, then, after more months of recuperation…she saw sooo much better than before the op…..and to this day raves about it….

    take care,

Prayers for a speedy recovery !!

    Jackie…

    Jackie,

Hope that you are feeling much better with your eye.

I will put you on my prayer list.

It was a wierd surgery because I was awake for the whole thing and could see knives and scissors inside my eyeball.

That’s about the most awful thing I’ve read in a while. Why on earth did you have to be awake for this? Yikes!

    Get well Jackie
