Because the cost of living is so high in many parts of the world, some people are turning to tiny houses as the solution,
This article talks about how tiny houses help single women in Australia and how one woman set up a business building tiny houses and plans to build a tiny house village.
Would a tiny house village be popular where you are? or how about a business building tiny houses?
.
Some of the biggest obstacles to tiny houses include:1. NIMBY attitudes (Not In My Back Yard).
2. Bureaucrats who view tiny houses as competitive threats to their federal grant money for “Homeless Coalition” agency funding.
3. Building contractors who want only the largest square footage houses allowed.
4. Politicians who see tiny houses as a property value threat to their property tax gravy train.
5. Zoning restrictions.
6. HOA prohibitions.
7. And probably others I haven’t thought of.
Some places you can probably crack through, or avoid, such barriers. Others, maybe not. YMMV (aka Your Mileage May Vary)
See these examples of the wars against low cost housing:
And tiny houses are just one of several strategies for coping with way out of reach housing costs. There are shared space rentals popping up in the pricier cities. Some fulltime employees in California have moved into RVs, vans, trucks or even cars out of desperation over housing costs. (There are video channels all over YouTube about that lifestyle, such as “CheapRVliving”.) There are people living in boats, some even in houseboats. (In the 1800s, there were up to 50,000 people living on what were called “ShantyBoats”.)
No matter what you propose to do, there will usually be some opposition to it. Whether they have the political clout to make your efforts useless or not, you have to research. Maybe you can overcome it, maybe not.

I think a tiny house village would need to be built just outside of the city limits where the zoning is easier.
RV parks is another great solution – usually outside of the city limits
and my all time favorite — move to Panama!!!
I think they are great. We have been looking at them in Houston for our homeless vets. There are parts of the city that would love this. just like in Kansas.

There are a lot of places doing this now.
